Just One Impression
Mr George is no ordinary manager. He represents a generation of managers that had been blessed with good education, massive professional post graduation qualifications and a work experience that will make any so-called technocrat turn green with envy.
That morning I was to have a meeting with him on the comensement of a project. We were to share notes, juggle reasoning and come up with a solution to a problem.
Thankfully, the problem was a practical one which required practical solutions. I admit, not all problems are practical in concept and execution.
Which is where he might have an edge over me given my disdain for numbers that do not bear currency symbols.
I nonetheless was in awe of our meeting that I almost did not notice when he packed by my car and gently tapped his horn, announcing his arrival.
As I got out my car and made way to reach his side of the car, I saw it and I froze and I thawed. But, I patched up myself to warm up to him. As a professional too, I had to numb my disappointment, bury it deep, put on a big friendly smile and win the first 3 minute battle.
In marketing, you are not trained to teach manners or good behaviour. You are taught to make a sale and sell it fast. which was I did.
But, what might the man have done to earn so much disapproval from me so easily?
Low battery beeps ......coming soon
